Tats\u00e4chlich nehmen diese Pflanzen ihre Nahrung direkt aus der in der Luft vorhandenen Luftfeuchtigkeit auf, weshalb sie auch &#8220;Luftpflanzen&#8221; oder &#8220;Windpflanzen&#8221; genannt werden. Dieser Prozess erfolgt dank der Trichome im \u00e4u\u00dfersten Teil der Tillandsia, die sich \u00f6ffnen, um Wasser aufzunehmen, und sich dann wieder schlie\u00dfen, um Feuchtigkeit zu speichern.
